The first time I heard this track was on this mix made by Aeroplane from Belgium. It is the first track of the set and it seriously kicks off right. That funky sound, that odd high pitched voice and the fantastic melody. It is just a really great track that makes me happy. Check out Sister Wife!
After being absent for a while on this blog, here’s my comeback with a simply fantastic track. With You is funky and deep but above all, it’s so smooth. If this doesn’t become a summer hit I will lose faith in all of the DJ world and perhaps I will be forced to do a quick course on DJ-ing and save the world. But for now, save yourselves and just listen to the track.
This one is so sweet. Another tip by H. and it is another great track. I’m especially liking the vocals, giving it a Jackons Five vibe to it in the hook. Frankie Knuckles, master of house, absolutely keeps that funkiness and soulfulness of the original (very much recommended!) in this remix. He stretches the original out to a full nine minutes but layers it so that it never gets boring. It slowly builds up, and slowly and eager you want to hear more and more. Right up until that moment when instruments are full on blazing, vocals are sung out loud and you are jamming in your seat like a madman.
A few days ago I got a text message from H. sending me some musical tips. That could only mean one thing: some great classics! H. didn’t let me down. Check out this golden oldie from 1982: Funkacise. If this does not have funkiness all over it than I don’t know what has.
