Sting – Englishman in NY (Prosper Rek & Franklin Reeves Edit)

31 May

Another classic artist that gets a contemporary remake. This is definitely a summery remix to remember.

Mario Basanov & Vidis – Kashyyyk

28 May

It took me waaay to long to figure out the name of this epic track and just recently I heard it again and found out that it is a track by Mario Basanov & Vidis. Here it is, enjoy.

Clean Bandit – A & E (Alexis Raphael Remix)

20 May

Check out this nice remix by Alexis Raphael. It sets the original in a completely different light. Difficult to compare, but which one is your favourite?

Drake – Hold On We’re Going Home (Instrumental)

20 May

Why is this track by Drake so great? Because it is instrumental! To me, it sounds a bit like Kavinsky. Take a listen to see if you agree.

The Bianca Story – Dancing People Are Never Wrong (Jan Blomqvist Remix)

20 May

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best remixes made by Jan Blomqvist. Listen and enjoy!

Moderat – Bad Kingdom

17 May

A great track from Moderat’s (Modeselektor and Apparat) album II. And is that an elephant in the background?

Parra for Cuva Ft. Anna Naklab – Wicked Games (Original Mix)

10 May

Chris Isaak’s original Wicked Game has been remaked/remixed/remade by various artists. The original material is so great that you must mess things really up to make a later version not sound great also. Take for example Businessman’s (alias of Trentemøller) Dubby Games or Adriatique & Thyladomid’s version, who did great jobs with the original material. Another artist who has done this successfully is Parra for Cuva’s version, check it out.

Feist – Caught A Long Wind (Lexer’s Little Bird Remake)

9 May

A friend of mine pointed out that I should listen to some tracks by Lexer and when I did today, I stumbled on this beauty that I had searched for some time now. It is great, so I needed to share it immediately.

Daniel Bortz – Monkey Biznizz

7 May

Another fantastic track by Daniel Bortz from his album Patchwork Memories. Enjoy!

Eyerer & Chopstick – Haunting (Gui Boratto Remix)

7 May

Here’s a track from a few years ago, around 2007 if I am not mistaken. Eyerer & Chopstick is an alias of the duo Martin Eyerer and Chi-Thien Nguyen. If you like this, make sure to check out some of Martin Eyerer’s solo work, Chopstick’s collaborations with Johnjon and of course work of the legendary Gui Boratto.
